Ms. Kimberlym Brown first came to SCPA in 1989 where she served as a 7th and 8th grade language arts teacher. During the seven years that Ms. Brown taught at SCPA, the interaction with her students was instrumental in her growth as a teaching professional.  After leaving SCPA, Ms. Brown worked for several years with Project Succeed where she taught at various grade levels.  When Project Succeed closed, she transferred to Bond Hill Academy Elementary as a middle school teacher.
Following her service at Bond Hill Academy, Ms. Brown was appointed Assistant Principal at Roberts Paideia, an institution noted for promoting and exhibiting the process of critical thinking.  The experience she gained from this period of service aided her tremendously in becoming a truly effective and innovation leader in the educational field.

Mr. John F. Copenhaver is a native to Cincinnati, Ohio and has been a respected member of the public teaching community for over 22 years. His earliest memories always included a box of crayons and several fresh sheets of white paper. Mr. Copenhaver has always loved art in school. His favorite teacher and mentor, Della Brown, inspired him to become an art teacher.

After high school, Mr. Copenhaver studied at the University of Cincinnati DAAP under the world renowned artist, Robert Fabe. His area of study was ceramics, but he has always had a creative burn for painting and drawing. Being a product of Cincinnati Public Schools, it was obvious which district Mr. Copenhaver chose to bring art to the lives of children. John served as an art teacher at Roll Hill School, Vine and Pleasant Hill Elementary for eight years until he was called to administration.

As Assistant Principal and Principal of Pleasant Hill, Mr. Copenhaver spent many long hours ensuring that his students were prepared academically, physically and emotionally as life long learners. Yet, something was missing. He really missed teaching and working with art. It was at that point that he made the decision to return to his first love, art.

In the last four years as Assistant Principal, Mr. Copenhaver is enjoying the best of both worlds by continuing to serve his students while at the same time creating/showing his art. Today along with his wife and two teenage sons, He continues to enjoy life as an artist and continues to thank God daily for the opportunity to love, laugh and paint. Mr. Copenhaver’s art background, 22 years of experience as an educator and his ability to move students academically makes him a valuable asset to our team.
